Vanessa Longacre, R.N., F.N.P.
Ms. Longacre is a certified family nurse practitioner. She received her BS in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1995 and received her Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 1999.
As a family nurse practitioner, Ms. Longacre works with the physician in the prractice to provide quality healthcare for children, adults and families. She performs physical examinations, diagnoses and treats acute illnesses and injuries, prescribes medications and performs other various treatments. She can also order and evaluate lab work and monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure.
Counseling and instruction in health promotion behaviors and nutrition is of particular interest to Ms. Longacre.

Gary Scudder, MD
Dr. Scudder has been a life long resident of Rising Sun. He has been practicing in the area since 1966. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Franklin College. In 1964 he received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. From 1964 to 1967 he served in the United States Military and served as Battalion Surgeon with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam.
In addition to being on the active staff at Dearborn County Hospital, Dr. Scudder has served as Chief of the Medical Staff and Chief of Medicine, Obstetrics and Pediatrics. He is the Medical Director for The Waters of Rising Sun. Dr. Scudder became the Dearborn County Health Officer in 1995 and continues to hold that position.
Dr. Scudder was a Charter member of the American Academy of General Practioners and President of Indiana Association of Public Health Physicians. He continues to be a member of the Indiana State Medical Association.
Dr. Scudder chose family practice because he enjoys taking care of all ages, treating a variety of medical problems and concerns. He likes knowing and treating the whole family.
He is an enthusiastic outdoorsman, with a particular interest in hiking.
